Meet Jamie

Rooted in the 6th District

Born in Wakefield and raised in Reading, Jamie is a proud product of public schools and a first-generation college graduate who put herself through Salem State University. She knows the grit it takes to build a life here, because she’s lived it.
Jamie comes from a family of workers. Her dad was a proud union carpenter and small business owner. Growing up in a union household shaped Jamie’s commitment to supporting good jobs, apprenticeships, and the working families who keep our communities strong.

Defending Human Rights & our Democracy

Jamie believes every person deserves dignity, safety, and opportunity, no matter who they are, where they come from, or what they look like. She has spoken out against violence, persecution, and genocide in all forms, and she has consistently stood with those whose voices are ignored or silenced.
A man is standing in front of a carpet store with a sign indicating a grand opening event. The store has large glass windows displaying signs and carpet samples, and the woman is dressed in a light-colored coat and dark pants, wearing glasses.

A Family Committed to Service

Jamie’s family has served this country for generations, from her father, a Vietnam veteran, to her brother who served as a military police officer, to both grandfathers who fought in World War II. Her great-uncle, Technical Sergeant Richard B. Fitzgibbon Jr., is recognized as the first U.S. casualty of the Vietnam War.
Their courage taught Jamie that public service is a responsibility, not a title.

Ready to deliver on day One

Jamie has nearly two decades of experience working with Congress to deliver wins for communities across the United States. Now, she’s running a people-powered campaign built by and for the residents of the 6th District.

She’s ready to bring her record, her energy, and her lived experience to Washington — and deliver for the district from day one!

Making History

Jamie made history as the first Arab American woman ever elected to the Massachusetts Legislature, flipping a seat that hadn’t elected a Democrat since 1858. Today, she serves as Topsfield’s Town Moderator, continuing the hands-on leadership she’s known for.
She also founded the North Shore Middlesex North PAC, helping new leaders rise up from our communities.

Delivering National Change For Families

Jamie is one of the nation’s leading voices in maternal mental health. From her kitchen table, she helped spark a national movement that changed federal law. A former Board Member of the Massachusetts March of Dimes, she founded the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance and serves as a Board Member of the Marcé Society of North America, advancing perinatal mental health research and clinical care.
Her work has helped pass three federal laws, including:
  • The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline
  • Over $86 million in federal funding for state programs
  • The first maternal mental health program for U.S. military families
These wins are helping families in every state, including right here on the North Shore, Merrimack Valley, and Cape Ann.
